Description
DTS is looking for a Controls Engineer in the Grayling, MI area. This company specializes in automated assembly and parts feeding equipment for the automotive industry.
Responsibilities
- Creating and commissioning industrial controls systems, PLC/HMI programming and software design for a variety of automotive industry applications.
- Responsible for PLC/HMI code development, code installation, debug on job site, and commissioning of the complete automated system.
- Conducting the peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up, and machine validation with build and electrical teams.
- Ensure that systems are designed and programmed to customer and/or company build specifications using standard techniques and approaches.
- Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of systems.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Controls Engineering/PLC/HMI programming experience.
- 5+ years of Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and/or Siemens PLC/HMI experience.
- The ability to program/write code/ladder logic from scratch.
- Prior experience with an automation integrator and/or automotive OEM or supplier preferred.
- Prior experience with automated assembly systems and parts feeding equipment preferred.
Education
- Associate's Degree and/or equivalent experience in Controls Engineering
