Controls Engineering Manager
Description
DTS is looking for a Controls Engineering Manager in Grayling, MI. The Controls Engineering Manager will be responsible for all automation projects and managing the Controls Engineering staff.
Responsibilities
- Consult with customers, salesman, designers, and toolmakers to fulfill automation systems per customer requirements
- Maintain good housekeeping and preventative maintenance of all equipment and facilities
- Ensure Employees follow all safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment
- Supervise personnel. Controls Designers, Electricians, PLC Programmers and Controls Engineers
- Develop personnel to reach each person’s full potential
- Communicate schedules and critical information to employees, delegating work, monitoring production schedules
- Obtain relevant information concerning the concept, design, build and programming of controls systems
- Confirm or obtain the proper hardware and software materials needed to process and produce products
- Able to use and supervise personnel using Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens PLC/HMI programming software
- Prepare reports and correspondencewhere information must be obtained from a variety of sources
- Continuous improvement of operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate problems, increase productivity and improve product quality
- Maintaining and establishing records and documentation of all types as required
Qualifications
- 10+ years of PLC/HMI programming and debugging experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens automation products
- 5+ years of Automotive industry experience
- Prior Controls Project Management or Engineering Management experience
- Experience with automated parts feeding and automated assembly equipment
- Quote, design, build, debug, run-off, installation, and commissioning controls systems experience
- Ability to respectfully deal with all employees, customers, vendors in a professional manner
- Able to utilize electrical design software, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, and Siemens software to design controls and create programs
- Able to establish plan/ processes to efficiently produce control systems from concept to finished product
